Recent work · South Metro

Three roofs. One day. And a yard you could walk barefoot in.

Most roof replacements here are done in one to two days. The old shingles come off completely, the decking and flashing get checked, and the new system goes on to manufacturer specifications. Then the jobsite gets cleaned, including a magnetic sweep for nails, before we leave. That is standard, not an upgrade.

  • Full tear-off, new roof from the deck up
  • Most replacements finished in 1 to 2 days
  • Cleanup and magnetic sweep every time
  • Warranty reviewed at the walkthrough

“These guys rock! Very reasonable and efficient!… We had 3 roofs replaced by them and they were in and out in a day and very clean!”

Local South Metro contractor

Based in Farmington, working the communities around it year round, storm season or not. The office is a local call, and the crews come back to the same towns.

Clear communication from inspection to completion

You hear what we are seeing, what your options are and what happens next, from the first inspection to the final walkthrough.

Quality materials, installed to manufacturer standards

Full tear-offs and new systems installed properly from the deck up. Cleanup and debris removal are standard, not upgrades.

No high-pressure sales tactics

An honest assessment and a written estimate. You decide how to proceed, on your timeline.

Who you will be working with

Brian is on the projects, not behind a desk.

Exterior work is not anonymous. Brian, the owner, is the name that comes up again and again in the reviews homeowners leave: keeping people updated through a job and helping them work through the insurance side of a claim. Derek Gajewski comes up most often in connection with insurance claims and checking in while work is underway. The crews get named too, which does not happen by accident.

“We love Brian and the crew. They are quick, honest and do great work. Never throughout the process were we left not knowing exactly what was going on or what was going to happen.”A South Metro homeowner, in a review
In their words

What homeowners say after the last nail is swept up.

“These guys rock! Very reasonable and efficient! I would recommend them to everyone and anyone! No I’m not related either being a Nelson. We had 3 roofs replaced by them and they were in and out in a day and very clean!”

Tony NelsonThree roof replacements

“We had hail come through last summer, and had them come check our roof. We ended up getting a full roof replacement and new garage door. Again, work was done in a timely manner and the crew was great! I recommend them to EVERYONE I know.”

Cindy BaronHail inspection, full roof replacement

“Wonderful contractor, the people were on time everyday and personable. They did a spectacular job on roof and siding. Derek Gajewski was a great guy to work with and he stopped by to check on the progress continually.”

Straight answers

Questions people ask before they call.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most roof replacements are completed in one to two days, depending on size, complexity and weather.

Will my old roof be removed?

Yes. We perform full tear-offs and install new roofing systems properly from the deck up. We do not lay new shingles over old ones.

Asphalt or metal?

Asphalt shingles are the most common choice in Minnesota: cost-effective, reliable, with architectural and impact-resistant options that handle wind, snow and freeze-thaw cycles. Metal is extremely durable, sheds snow well and needs little maintenance, at a higher upfront investment. We walk through the pros and cons for your home, not a one-size-fits-all recommendation.

What does a new roof cost?

Roof replacement costs in the South Metro vary with roof size and pitch, material, the number of existing layers to remove, and the condition of ventilation, flashing and decking. There is no single number: a small, simple roof with one layer to remove is a different job from a large, steep roof with two layers and decking repairs. You get a clear, written estimate so you know exactly what is included before you decide.

Do you help with insurance claims?

Yes. We regularly assist homeowners with storm damage claims: inspection, photo documentation, meeting the adjuster, and making sure the scope reflects the actual work. If insurance is involved we help ensure the scope aligns with approved coverage whenever possible.

Do you clean up after the job?

Absolutely. Cleanup and debris removal are standard, not upgrades, including a magnetic sweep of the yard for nails.

Are you licensed and insured?

BN Exteriors, LLC holds Minnesota Residential Building Contractor License #BC805219, issued by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, and is listed with the Better Business Bureau. You are welcome to verify the license with the state before you hire us or anyone else.
